[Indistinct conversations]Thanks, Brian.Gould: Michael shaped the character of Chuck McGill. When Vince and I wrote the pilot, we thought of himas a responsibility for Jimmy. We thought of him as a little bit -- a little bit helpless. And Michael came inand he brought such pride to the character, such gravitas to the character that it changed up, frankly, not just his character but the entire series.-$20 million. -Excuse me?Or we'll see you in court. He brought an intelligence, and you can't fake that,no matter how good an actor you are.If you're not -- I don't knowhow you play smart if you're not really smart. And Michael is whip smart.God, Jimmy! [Sighs]Don't you know by now this is real?I feel this? It's a physical response to stimuli. It's not a quirk!I think Chuck went to his deaththinking that he had done everything the right way.I mean, toward the end, it just became so crazy. But still, I never thought of him as crazybecause I had to think of him as for real.Jimmy: Don't worry about that, all right?Look down. Look at the grass.Chuck tortured Jimmy. It's partly Jimmy's fault for caring. Is this a joke? No. No joke. You -- you passed the bar?[Laughs] Yeah. I did.The relationship between Chuck and Jimmy is a coreof the first three seasons of the show. It's easier [laughs] it's easier to say goodbye to Chuckthan Michael by a million miles.Motions aside, that tape will be played.Seehorn: You could not assign this person just a villain box.You had to deal themand it made you deal with yourself as your character. He's not a character you love and cherish immediately, but he has a way of bringingthe best and the worst out in people.I found a way to love Chuck...because I think that's a way in.I'm going to get better!I'm gonna go back to work, and I'm picking up where I left off![Groaning]Chuck was always odious.[Laughs] It just... He was always odious.Would you mind if I...took a moment to speak with your brother?Make sure you still have your wallet when you're done.[Laughs] -Funny guy.No matter what sympathy you were supposed to feel,I thought, "What a prick."And to take that character on and do that character, you know, that's... that's a big deal.Jimmy: Right back to when I passed the barand tried to join the firm, you didn't want me.Speak up.You're not a real lawyer.I'm what? You're not a real lawyer!I know what you were, what you are.People don't change. You're Slippin' Jimmy! And Slippin' Jimmy, I can handle just fine, but Slippin' Jimmy with a law degreeis like a chimp with a machine gun.Odenkirk: There were a lot of moments like that with Michael, where I was like, "Holy (no audio) This guy's good."I mean, he's just bringing so much life to this moment, and, um, boy, it just...one of the best things I've ever had a front-row seat to.I think we'd be in a very different television showif Michael McKean hadn't been Charles McGill.I don't want to hurt your feelings, but the truth is,you've never mattered all that much to me.
