[Button clicks, music stops]I wasn't expecting you.One of my favorite Easter Eggs,seeing Gale Boetticher again.Gale, we know, was the recipientof the Max Arciniega Chemistry Scholarshipthat Gus Fring founded...Fring: Gale was, uh, perhaps one of three dozen.more or less in order to get Gale some training...I know that when the time comes,you will be ready....and to bring him under his wing.By the way, that sample you asked me to run?This is the first appearance of Gale's notebookwhich has the plans for the Superlab inside.[Chuckles]I can work with this.In "Breaking Bad," Hank finds it,and it has a very important clue.Hank: "To W.W., my star, my perfect silence."W.W. -- [Laughs]I mean, who do you figure that is, yeah?Walter White?[Chuckles]You got me.♪♪Cherkis: Peter though it would be really fun and interestingto see how the Superlab was built.Dangerous, difficult, and very, very expensive...not quite impossible.We were very thrilled in the writers' roomthinking about how fans of "Breaking Bad"are gonna be excited to see the originsof Gus' majestic palace [Chuckles] of drugs.Mercer: You see this big, empty spacethat looks like nothing,but somehow you are right back in "Breaking Bad."That's, uh, a little pet project of mine.And you can see where Gale's coffee maker was.Why the hell are we making meth?You can see where the big stir tanks wereand the catwalk stairs are there,and it's so clear in your mind,even though none of it is in the room yet.It just is amazing.Man, we should have ditched that RV months ago.It's all, like, shiny up in here.♪♪Gould: Another great Easter Egg --Ira, who Jimmy hires to break in and get the Hummels,is the same Ira who later runs Vamonos Pest.Tell me about these guys.Jimmy: Mr. Ponytail on the sidewalk --That's Ira. He's the owner.To see how he came intothe Saul Goodman familywas really satisfying and interesting.The office guy -- he's here.[Chuckling] What?Come get me.♪♪Smith: This is the first appearance of Venizia's Pizza.It appeared several times in "Breaking Bad."It's the pizza that Walt threw on the roof.I got the b'sticks.♪♪[Grunts]It's also one, then later is explained,when Badger ordered it.Yo, what's up with the pie, man.It ain't cut.Yeah, right. That's the gimmick.What am I supposed to do with this?♪♪[Doorbell rings]-Can I help you? -Hey.I'll tell you one of my favorites wasseeing the character of Lalo.He's a character that's mentioned once,which is Saul's introduction in "Breaking Bad."-[Shouting in Spanish] -Shut up.Just speak English.Lalo didn't send you? No Lalo?Who? Oh, thank God.When it turns out it's not Lalo,he's just, "oh, fine.Two guys with guns I don't know.Guns and ski masks -- whatever, do your worst.Just so long as you're not Lalo."I had said to Peter Gould and the writers at one point,"you know, you don't have to pay offevery single little thingthat got mentioned in passing in dialogue.[Speaking Spanish]But he was single-minded about it.The writers were too.I was thinking, "eh, I don't know.Is it really gonna pay dividends?"Hell, yeah, it does.This was a good idea.[Speaking Spanish]And Hector Salamanca's in Casa Tranquilo,the nursing home that, years and years from now,Gus Fring's gonna get blown up in.[Bell dinging][Screams][Explosion]So you got layers upon layers.We've set up a lot of things to work on and to pay offin Season 5.It's gonna be like I'm not even here.♪♪
